Job Description

The Independent/Used Car Technician functions as a skilled-level technician who can perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, on numerous makes and models, and who has previously worked as a general service technician. Completes all work assigned by the supervisor, manager, and/or shop foreman. Opportunity to train and qualify as a Certified Ford Technician.

You will use your extensive knowledge of engine management and fuel, electrical, ignition and emission systems to diagnose and repair vehicles. Our service departments are as cutting edge as our vehicles - and we're looking for employees with the talents and skills to take us even further. Two years experience as a service technician required. ASE Certification preferred. Broad knowledge of both new and old engine vehicles and A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair also preferred.

An unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record, a strong technical performance record, and strong physical dexterity and stamina to get the job done are required. He or she must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and must have a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world class customer service.

  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
  • Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
  • Diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis and testing
  • Performs routine and high level repairs and service inspections
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
